New York: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on a mutual exemption of entry visas was signed on Tuesday between the UAE and Chad.
The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the 72nd United Nations General Assembly meeting by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Hussain Taha, Chad’s Foreign Minister.
Shaikh Abdullah later met with Louise Mushikiwabo, Rwanda’s Foreign Minister, Simon Coveney, Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Kairat Abdrakhmanov, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister, Louis Straker, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Minister of Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Trade, and Taro Kono, Japan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
During the meetings, bilateral relations and means of enhancing and developing them in various diplomatic, political, economic, trade, cultural, tourism, renewable energy and other fields, were discussed.
They also reviewed and exchanged views and political positions on the latest regional and international issues of common interest, especially the situation in Libya, Syria, among others on the UN agenda.
The meetings were attended by Lana Nussaibah, UAE Permanent Representative to the UN, and Khalid Omran Al Amiri, UAE Ambassador to Japan.
