Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Thursday received Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal, who arrived on a short visit to the UAE.

Shaikh Mohammad welcomed Prince Saud and his accompanying delegation, and expressed his pride in the brotherly relations between UAE and Saudi Arabia. He also praised the strategic development witnessed by these historic relations thanks to the special attention given by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz. Shaikh Mohammad praised King Abdullah’s vision for the future, stability and development of the region during these critical times.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen the strong cooperative relations between the UAE and Saudi Arabia in all fields, which will achieve joint strategic interests between the two countries and their peoples. They also spoke about the GCC’s march and the keenness of the UAE and Saudi Arabia to support joint Gulf work and adopt stands that serve the GCC’s unity and the present and future benefits for the Gulf peoples, which will in turn make them capable of facing up to challenges and dangers. They also spoke about a number of current developments in the region, and avenues of joint and collective work to support security and stability in the region.

Prince Saud is accompanied by a delegation that includes Prince Mohammad Bin Nayef Al Saud, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Interior, and Prince Khalid Bin Bandar Bin Abdul Aziz, Head of Saudi Arabia’s General Intelligence Directorate.

Present during the meeting were Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy National Security Advisor, Dr Anwar Mohammad Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and other Shaikhs and senior officials.
