Cairo: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, visited the Unknown Soldier Memorial in Al Nasr city on Thursday as part of his official visit to Egypt.

Upon his arrival at the monument, Shaikh Mohammad was received by Lieutenant General Sidqi Subhi, Egypt’s Defence Minister, and a number of senior officials.

An official welcoming ceremony was held for Shaikh Mohammad during which a military band played the national anthems of both countries and a guard of honour greeted him.

Shaikh Mohammad laid a wreath at the memorial to pay tribute to Egyptian soldiers who gave their lives for their nation.

During his visit, Shaikh Mohammad was accompanied by a delegation which included Hussain Ebrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, Dr Sultan Ahmad Al Jaber, Minister of State, Khaldoun Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, Mohammad Bin Nakhira Al Daheri, UAE Ambassador to Egypt, and senior officials.
