Al Ain: The UAE University’s (UAEU) Science and Innovation Park was inaugurated on Tuesday by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Following the Park’s inauguration at the UAEU campus in Al Ain, Shaikh Mohammad inspected the projects of students. He was briefed by students on innovative models and inventions that can be used in vital sectors such as medicine, science, economy, environment, education and others. The students explained the mechanism of their inventions and their purpose.
The projects and inventions were on display as part of the UAE Innovation Week.
Shaikh Mohammad expressed his happiness with the positive response that the UAE Innovation Week received from youths, government and private bodies in the UAE. He said UAE Innovation Week has become an annual event to motivate these bodies and Emirati youth, particularly university and college students. He said the event allows them to unleash their potential and showcase their talents in research and invention to the public.
Shaikh Mohammad pointed out that the UAE Innovation Week will contribute to supporting the national economy and creating a new generation of young entrepreneurs in our country.
He praised the idea behind setting up the Park as an incubator for research centres and innovations, which consolidates the UAE’s national vision for supporting innovation through partnerships between the university and local and international organisations. He reiterated the importance of turning these innovative projects into enterprises that are economically feasible.
Shaikh Mohammad stressed the need to activate coordination and interaction between the public and private sector to ensure the sustainability of development and attracting the largest possible number of creative minds.
“We, as a leadership, believe in our youth’s capabilities and passion to ensure the progress of their country and strengthening its global position in various domains. We reaffirm that Emirati youth will always be the source of our attention and unlimited support that will lead them to a brighter future,” said Shaikh Mohammad.
“Patience, perseverance and determination are the most important tools for intelligent people, allowing them to be more creative, serve our dear country and make our people more happy,” added Shaikh Mohammad.
