Riyadh: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, met the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia, here on Friday and discussed with him fraternal relations and possible ways to boost them.

Shaikh Mohammad and King Salman also discussed the latest regional and international developments.

King Salman welcomed Shaikh Mohammad and his delegation and expressed his satisfaction at the growing relations between the two countries.

Expressing his pleasure at meeting with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Shaikh Mohammad conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his best wishes of development and further prosperity for the Saudi government and its people.

King Salman, in return, asked Shaikh Mohammad to pass on his greetings and best wishes to Shaikh Khalifa and the people of the UAE.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed the distinguished fraternal relations and mutual efforts to further promote their strategic cooperation in several areas related to the regional security and stability so as to serve their common interests and enhance the progress of the Gulf Cooperation Council as well as to maintain the Arab rights.

Referring to the solidarity and strong cooperation between both counties, Shaikh Mohammad stressed the importance of their common vision to establish regional peace and security and counter terrorism and extremism.

Shaikh Mohammad lauded King Salman’s honourable stances, saying that Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the king is a cornerstone for maintaining regional security and stability, and is its security valve.

He also praised its relentless efforts to defend the Arab interests and its keenness to maintain the Arab unity.

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince; Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Prince Mohammad Bin Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia; and Prince Mohammad Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister of Saudi Arabia, as well as other senior officials.
