Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received yesterday Lt Gen Sidqi Subhi, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, at Al Mamoura.

Shaikh Mohammad and Subhi reviewed appropriate ways of enhancing bilateral ties in the best interests of the two countries and their people. Discussions also covered joint military cooperation and coordination, and exchange of expertise and visits.

The two sides affirmed the depth of bilateral relations and their commitment to furthering them in all domains. They also stressed the importance of pursuing efforts of building and development to ensure a more prosperous and progressive future for Egypt.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Egyptian military commander also spoke about the latest regional and international developments and exchanged views on matters of common concern.

Mohammad Ahmad Al Bawardi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence, Lt Gen Hamad Mohammad Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, a number of senior civilian and military officials, and members of the delegation accompanying the Egyptian chief of staff were also present at the meeting.
