Mohammad Bin Rashid: Field visits enhance the open door policy
‘Mohammad Bin Zayed is a rare leader who meets his people like brothers’
Sharjah: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said that President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has instilled the traditions of the founding fathers of communicating with people and visiting them all over the country.
In a special statement made by Shaikh Mohammad to Al Khaleej newspaper, issued on Sunday, regarding the field visits made by General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, he said that a true leader is in tune with his people, hence Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed is a rare leader who meets his people like brothers meet each other.
He added that the visits made by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed enhance the open door policy used by leaders and is an active way to communicate with the elderly community to convey their experiences to the newer generations.
He pointed out that in the UAE, the relation of leaders with their people is an exceptional one based on the affiliation to the nation, people, and leaders and came about naturally and not through political ideologies.
Shaikh Mohammad also said that the success of leaders in the UAE is measured through what has been achieved in the smallest village in the country.
He also praised Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed’s field efforts and tours all over the country, as well as his keenness on meeting Emiratis and listening to their needs.
Shaikh Mohammad also affirmed that Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed’s tours come in line with the directives and keenness of Shaikh Khalifa to be in direct contact with all Emiratis and to reach them wherever they may be, which he pointed out is the method that was implemented by the UAE’s founding fathers.
Shaikh Mohammad added that although the rulers’ courts are always open to people all year round, field visits are a way of interacting with all the community’s categories — such as the elderly — to carry their vast experiences to the youth who are the country’s future. He added that this interaction with people embodies their love for their nation which contributes to further developing the country.
Shaikh Mohammad also said that the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Shaikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum were keen on applying an open door policy and meeting people wherever they went. He added they looked into people’s needs closely and this approach was followed by the leadership which always placed the people first.
He then pointed out that Shaikh Zayed and his brothers had established a state of law and institutes, where they built a model union on the basis of justice, tolerance and reconciliation, thus giving the world a fine example of wise leadership.
Shaikh Mohammad concluded that the federal government’s field visits, which he is keen on, will never be linked to a limited time or location, but will continue to achieve prosperity for the people and elevate the country to the highest levels of development.
