Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, held talks with Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Al Sissi on Thursday on fraternal relations and regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Welcoming the Egyptian president who is in the country for a two-day visit during which he will participate in the 45th UAE National Day celebrations, Shaikh Mohammad highlighted that such visits enhance and deepen fraternal relations between Egypt and the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian president conveyed his greetings to Shaikh Khalifa, expressed his pride in the strong fraternal relations and cooperation between both countries. He also congratulated the UAE and its people on the occasion of National Day.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed fraternal cooperation in economic, political and development fields as well as other vital domains based on both countries’ keenness on boosting their relations to achieve common interests.

Shaikh Mohammad stressed that the UAE is constantly working to boost its historical relations with Egypt.

The foundations of such relations, as Shaikh Mohammad said, were laid by the late Shaikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan based on firm principles of cooperation and coordination over many bilateral and Arab issues.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi added that strategic relations binding the UAE and Egypt are very dynamic and strong, noting the importance of cementing those relations continuously.

Al Sissi lauded the UAE’s development progress achieved in the recent years, saying that it has become a role model for all Arab countries, especially when it comes to achieving comprehensive development.

He also praised the pivotal and constructive role being played by the UAE in supporting Arab causes especially on issues related to establishing peace, security and realising development.

Highlighting the importance of fostering bilateral relations at all levels, Al Sissi said the region now is experiencing various challenges that require Arabs to stand in solidarity.

Both leaders exchanged views over a number of issues of mutual concern and stressed the importance of developing an Arab strategy that would help surmount all challenges and maintain regional peace and security.

The meeting also touched on the latest regional and international developments.
