The idea of having such a grand mosque came to the late Shaikh Zayed two decades ago. Today, that dream has materialised as the Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Mosque, popularly known as the Grand Mosque, on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi.
