Dubai: The Ministry of Health and Prevention announced on Saturday its schedule of activities for the country’s celebration of Innovation Week 2016 due to be launched on Sunday under the slogan ‘The UAE innovates’.
The planned activities of the ministry will be held across key locations such as the ministry’s offices in Dubai and at its district office as well as Sharjah Training and Development Centre from November 20 to November 26.
During Innovation Week, the ministry will launch a strategic index and will open an innovation room uniquely designed to provide its employees with an innovative environment that boosts their performance.
The ministry will also launch a smart app that will provide children with necessary skills and encourage them to adopt a healthy lifestyle as well as other activities, events, lectures on innovation concepts and workshops that discuss challenges and find innovative solutions.
In addition, the ministry will honour distinguished researches and customers who submitted innovative proposals.
Abdul Rahman Mohammad Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, said, “The UAE Innovation Week is an annual event that highlights the UAE future agenda and is also a sustainable platform that strengthen leadership in all areas according to the National Innovation strategy launched earlier by the wise leadership with an aim to make the UAE one of the top innovative countries by 2021.”
The ministry is developing its strategy in line with the UAE aspirations in drawing up a strategic national innovation framework and moving to a knowledge-based economy, Al Owais added.
