Dubai: The premium laptop-tablet hybrid from Microsoft — Surface 3 Pro — is available at Gitex Shopper but only at Jumbo Electronics.

The device as officially unveiled in the UAE by Microsoft in June and UAE was one of the 31 countries where Surface 3 Pro will be available. In the Middle East and Africa region, the device will only be available in the UAE and Qatar but not to consumers. Microsoft is deliberately focusing on the commercial sector with this device.

The 12-inch device is the thinnest laptop in the market with 9.2mm thickness and weighs 800 grams. It is powered by Intel’s fourth-generation processors.

Adorning both sides of the device are 5MP cameras capable of Full HD video recording.

The most striking aspect is the backlit keyboard cover.

The magnetic double hinge latches on to the device lower bezel with ease and does not peel off easily.

The keyboard is available in four colours –red, black, purple and light blue. The device is available in silver and white colours. It has a battery life of between eight and nine hours.

The 3:2 aspect ratio is good and can display more content than the MacBook Air’s 16:10 ratio.

The resolution is beefed up from 1920 x 1080 to 2160 x 1440 in Surface 3 Pro.
