Dubai’s pride Parul Shah won one of the major titles on her second try at Philippine pageant Binibining Pilipinas.

The Filipino-Indian Shah was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Tourism and she will represent the country at the Miss Tourism International. She talks to tabloid! about the experience.

Q. Do you think it helped that you joined Binibining Pilipinas last year?

A. Yes, it did help, because my experience last year made me see my strengths and weaknesses. Because I joined the pageant last year, I had the opportunity to learn from it. When I joined again this year, I was already a better version of myself. But then again, I was still nervous every time I set foot on stage. But, I didn’t let my nerves get the better of me.

Q. Message to your family, friends and fans in Dubai?

A. To my family, friends and fans — I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your never-ending support, prayers and love. I am very honoured and humbled. God bless you all.

Q. Any plans to visit Dubai soon?

A. Yes, of course. After all, Dubai is my first home and my parents are still working there.

Q. What are the lessons you learnt in the previous pageant that helped you win the title?

A. To never give up and be optimistic. In life, not all things are going to be easy. Life is not going to be an easy road, but we should always have a positive outlook and learn from our mistakes and always strive to be the best in whatever we do.
