Want to mingle on a yacht with singers Akon, Davido and actor Boris Kodjoe in Dubai? This is your chance.

The trio will be in town on Friday to help launch the Tulwe Global Music Contest in the MENA region. The contest, whose winner gets a $1 million dollar (Dh3.67 million) record deal, will take place online via the Tulwe app. Competitors can sing, record and upload clips of themselves singing, and receive votes from a global audience. Participants, who must be age 12 or older, can upload videos until November 11. Starting November 12, voting begins across several rounds, culminating in a final round that begins on December 16.

“Everyone, regardless of their nationality and location, should be given the opportunity to showcase their singing talents on the global stage,” said Anthony Karim Adam, founder and CEO of Tulwe Inc, in a press release.

“The restrictions of current competitions in the US and Europe have made it difficult — sometimes impossible — for even the most talented individuals in emerging markets to join them. This is where Tulwe will fill in the gap,”

The contest will launch during an exclusive event in Marina on Friday night, starting at 7pm, and will feature performances by Akon and Davido.

If you’re interested in an invite, download the Tulwe app via GooglePlay or AppStore and upload a video of yourself singing by 9pm on Thursday. Three winners will be chosen to attend the event.
