Fujairah: A Polish man survived a fall from a sixth-storey window of a hotel located in Fujairah, Fujairah Police said.

Brigadier Mohammad Ganem Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, told Gulf News that police received a call on Sunday around 9am reporting that a Polish man had fallen from the window of his hotel room on Shaikh Hamad Bin Abdullah Road in Fujairah.

Brig. Al Kaabi said the man was admitted to Fujairah Hospital in serious condition.

Doctors attending on him said the man sustained fractures but his condition was stable.

The man is working with a company based in Fujairah, he said, and was placed under the police watch.

Fujairah Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

It is not clear whether he attempted to end his own life, if someone pushed him or if there were other reasons.

Police investigations will reveal why the man fell from the window, Brig. Al Kaabi said

Meanwhile, an official at the hotel, who did not want to be named, told Gulf News the man was in his room with his colleague at the time of the accident.

The two men were booked in one room and work for the same company, he said.

“We heard a scream outside the hotel and rushed to investigate. Then we found the man lying on the ground. We informed police about the incident,” the hotel official said.
