Sharjah: A man suffered burn injuries after his car caught fire following a collision with a number of vehicles as he was trying to run away from police in Sharjah.
Police tried to stop an Emirati driver after receiving reports of reckless driving but he did not stop and sped away.
Police managed to stop the vehicle and arrested the 34-year-old man identified as M.S.R. at the Sharjah clock tower roundabout after his vehicle collided with a number of vehicles on the road and caught fire.
According to the police, the driver sustained second degree burns and was transferred to hospital. His condition was reported to be critical. It is believed that the man was driving under the influence of drugs.
