Dubai: Over the weekend, the Ruler of Dubai attended Spain's ultimate endurance horse race.

Photos have been circulating through social media of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at Spain’s Endurance Race 2017 on Saturday.

Located in the province of Catalunya, the 160-kilometre race (also referred to as the VIII Raid De Tordera’s endurance challenge) took place at the Tordera Racetrack.

Tweets from Dubai Media Office show Shaikh Mohammad taking a leisurely stroll through the Spanish countryside.

The race saw the participation of Emirati horse riders, in addition to an elite group of European horse riders.

The Emirati riders participated in the event in the run-up for the European endurance races and championships, most notably the World Youth Endurance Race, which will be hosted by the Italian city of Verona by the end of September.

The race was attended by a number of Shaikhs, senior officials and fans of endurance races.
