A hol lot of fun
Six-year-old Keenan McFadzean thoroughly enjoyed his summer vacation in Vietnam with his family. He gladly shares his experiences with readers
My name is Keenan McFadzean. I went to Vietnam with my mum and dad and my little brother Noah.
There, we ate lots and lots of noodles, even for breakfast. We also ate fresh fish and prawns.
Our guide Jason was a lot of fun. We went to his house and his mum cooked for us — we ate so much. We also played with local children and shared chocolates.
I steered a boat in the MeKong Delta and went to the markets in Saigon, where we saw all kinds of fruits and vegetables. There were also many animals there.
We saw rice paddies, where rice is grown. I took an elephant ride and held a 2-metre python — all by myself! My brother and I also fed crocodiles in the park.
We visited a water park and I took rides on all the big slides.
In Hanoi, we went to a terrific Chinese water puppet show, which was really funny.
Hanoi also has a beautiful lake called Hoen Kiem, where people walk and jog and do t'ai chi.
The beaches were great fun. The waves were huge and we all went snorkelling. I even jumped off a two-storey boat in Halong Bay.
I like making videos and made many in Vietnam. I interviewed my family and friends about our trip.
I met a lot of nice people and made loads of friends. I had so much fun in Vietnam I can't wait to go back.
