Ex-Big Brother star Jade Goody is “devastated" after learning that boyfriend Jack Tweed has received a jail sentence for battering a youth.

Tweed and his pal James Mattock were found guilty in July of battering 16-year-old Daniel Steele with golf clubs. The sentence was delivered this week.

He and Goody split earlier this year but he has been constantly at her side since she was diagnosed with cancer. Goody wrote to the court begging that Tweed not be locked up so he could help her fight cervical cancer.

But the convicted Tweed got 18 months and hours later Goody tearfully went with her eldest son Bobby, 5, to comfort Tweed's mum Mary.

The weeping TV star told a pal: “This couldn't have come at a worse time. I'm in bits. I'm devastated. Jack is my rock."
In the meantime Goody has also accused her doctors of initially misdiagnosing her cancer. She claims doctors initially gave her an all clear, and sent her away with just pain killers for period pain.

She was informed about her cancer diagnosis while in the Indian reality show Bigg Boss last month, reports dailymail.co.uk.

“I made a conscious effort to tell them that I was going away for a long period of time and they [the doctors] would not be able to get in touch with me, and asked them would that be OK. They said I was fine, fit and healthy," Goody told British channel GMTV in a live conversation. She later received the news in the diary room of the reality show that she had cancer and it had spread and now claims that she was not aware that the conversation was being filmed.
