Richmond, Virginia: Former members of the Jamaican reggae band The Wailers, which played alongside Bob Marley, are going to court to try to stop the group they left from performing under the same name.

Aston “Family Man” Barrett and other ex-Wailers members say in court documents that the reggae group currently playing under the name is a sham because it includes no original members.

The petition for injunctive relief filed in a Virginia Beach court on Wednesday says Barrett recently left the group, but the band continues to use his name and likeness in promotional materials.

Michael Jones manages the band currently performing as The Wailers. Jones said on Thursday that he hasn’t yet read the filing, but says dozens of musicians have played under the Wailers name over the years.
