Dubai: Trading Enterprises, the exclusive distributor of Honda in the UAE, has reported a 128 per cent jump in sales across its range of vehicles in 2006.

This includes a 124 per cent jump in sales of the Honda Civic, 127 per cent for the Honda Accord, 132 per cent for the MR-V, 161 per cent for the CR-V, 115 per cent for the Honda City, 186 per cent for the Odyssey and 170 per cent for the Honda Jazz, the company said.

"2006 was an outstanding year for Honda in the UAE. Demand for Honda vehicles showed an upward curve due to the impressive range of excellent value-for-money products available, making Honda a highly popular choice among UAE motorists," said Guy Edmunds, Honda's sales and marketing manager at Trading Enterprises.

"Sales of Honda vehicles also reached record levels due to significant developments in design, technology and performance. The hugely popular Civic, Accord and CR-V accounted for almost 87 per cent of Honda sales in 2006. The all-new Civic was particularly successful, proving to be an instant hit when it was launched at the end of 2005."

The Honda City and Honda Jazz recorded impressive figures in the highly competitive small car segment.

To meet the growing demand, Trading Enterprises opened the world's largest Honda showroom at Dubai Festival City in April. The state-of-the-art showroom can display more than 40 vehicles.

As the UAE economy continues to develop and expand, Trading Enterprises expects to build on Honda's established record-breaking success in 2007.

This is expected through the steady growth of the Honda vehicle range, which will include the launch of the all-new Legend luxury flagship model.

The problem is that everyone is anxious about certain sudden changes, including you. But while you're biding your time until you learn more, others are taking action, and it isn't always well thought out. The best strategy? For now – distract them.
