Washington: Troubled carmaker General Motors could shed its Hummer brand of vehicles on Tuesday, as it draws up a restructuring plan to win more government bailout funds, The New York Times reported.
GM in June announced it was considering what to do with its oversized sports utility vehicle, as Hummer sales plummeted to 51 per cent last year.
GM was trying to find a buyer for the brand, a Hummer spokesman told the daily, adding that the company was "in discussion with several parties" but had not come to a decision yet.
"An announcement about Hummer's fate may be made Tuesday," The New York Times reported.
