Mini seems to have opted for a more conventional dash layout

We’re warming up to Anders Warming’s design for the third generation Mini. But, if we believe the rumours, then the lack of the Big Ben inspired speedo will take some getting used to.
Mini seems to have ditched the traditional dash opting for a more conventional layout. Only time will tell if removing such a unique feature was a good idea.
Anyway, the new car is longer and wider than the current model and it has a steeply raked windscreen. The bonnet has also grown but the grille has shrunk. A new 1.5-litre turbocharged three-pot with 148bhp will be available, as will a more potent 2.0-litre four-cylinder that will also power the new BMW 1 Series.
In Cooper S guise, it will have a 1.6-litre turbocharged unit making 178bhp and as for the JCW version — which will have the same, but tweaked motor — you can expect 217bhp.
