What is it?
Intensati is a high-energy workout, which busts an impressive 800 calories per session. What makes it different from every other class is that it is combined with positive affirmations, which give you an emotional, mental and spiritual boost, too. Instructor Yvette Franzos says, "Intensati brings everything into action - our bodies, our minds, our emotions. And the affirmations mean you leave the class with strong, positive thoughts at the forefront of your mind."

Fitness focus: Intensati
Just when you thought you'd tried every exercise class under the sun, something entirely new gives the fitness world a shake-up

- "Intensati stands for intentions and self-awareness -and it brings this to all areas of your life."
What happens?
The music is boppy and fast and the movements are a mixture of aerobics, kickboxing, yoga and dance. It sounds complicated but, as someone who struggles with even the simplest of dance choreography, I can confirm the moves are easy to follow.
While doing the moves, Yvette shouts the affirmations and you repeat them. Although a little self-conscious at first, I soon gave into the vibe and was shouting them with vigour. According to Yvette, this is the bit most people fear, but she says stepping out of your comfort zone is part of the process. I have to admit, although just the word ‘affirmation' normally makes me shudder, the actual chanting didn't disturb me at all - and it was a lot less ‘girl power' than I thought it would be. It was actually more energising and filled you with a sense of being in control of your day. The warm-up chant went like this: ‘Every day in a very true way, I co-create my reality. As is above, so is below. This is what I know.' The rest of the chants involved phrases like, ‘Now is the time for action'. Yvette says, "Intensati stands for intentions and self-awareness - and it brings this to all areas of your life."
What are the results?
It's impossible to talk about physical results after one session, but with 800 calories busted per class, it can't fail to make an impact. As for the rest of it, I was buzzing all day and told anyone who would listen that I felt more awake and alive than I had done in months. It was like an injection of caffeine and positivity - needless to say, I'm hooked.
