Toshiba has launched the Portégé G900, a smart handheld device that comes in a horizontal slider format and runs the new Windows Mobile 6 OS.
An innovative fingerprint sensor, a full qwerty keyboard and a 3" wide-VGA screen enables internet browsing, the device also features an MP3 player, video streaming, 2 megapixel camera, PC phone integration technology and wireless and Bluetooth connectivity.

Apple gets berry competitive
It was just a matter of time before Apple lined up the iPhone to bite into the BlackBerry pie.
And with MobileMe, a new internet service that delivers push email, contacts and calendars from the MobileMe service that acts like a 'cloud' to push native applications on iPhone, iPod touch, Macs and PCs, Apple may have just done that.
MobileMe features a suite of web applicactions including mail, contacts, calendar and iDisk for storing and exchanging documents online.

Japanese robotics firm iXs Research Corporation has unveiled its new GPS talking teddy bear to help drivers find their way.
Standing one foot tall (60cm), the bear can also point out, while giving spoken directions. It is equipped with functions to improve auto safety, such as an alcohol detection sensor and warns you not to drive recklessly.
The bear even provides information about local landmarks when its head is stroked.

Facebook has pipped MySpace as the world's most popular social networking website, researchers have found.
Surveys by American research firm ComScore showed that Facebook had 123.9 million unique visitors in May and 50.6 billion page views worldwide. On the other hand, MySpace had 114.6 million unique visitors and 45.4 billion page views.

All in the Name now
The internet's regulator, Icann, has decided to go easy on rules on so-called 'top-level' domain names, such as .com or .org or .net. What this means is that now companies can turn brands into web addresses and ordinary folk can use their names.
Icann has also approved a second proposal to introduce domain names written in Asian, Arabic or other scripts. Be prepared for domain names like .nyc for New York websites and maybe even .dubai. Who knows?
