Every now and then a product comes along that solves a problem and makes you wonder why it wasn't solved already. The Imation Link definitely falls into that category. The Link can stream the contents of your PC to your TV or any other video output device wirelessly. No more cables that run tens of metres long with people tripping over them.

The setup is made up of two parts — the transmitter and the receiver. The transmitter is a black USB dongle that plugs into your desktop or laptop. But before you do that, the software needs to be installed or else the device may not be detected and installed correctly. Luckily, there's a reminder on the box to keep you from forgetting. Once installed correctly, you may plug and unplug the transmitter at your whim.

The receiver is a black device which looks sleek. Diffused indicator lights adorn the front of the device while the back features the connectivity ports. In addition to a power port, the Link also features HDMI, VGA and 3.5mm sound connectivity. So it's equipped to connect to any modern TV.

The Link sets your TV up as a second monitor and is capable of transmitting video at 720p and still images at 1,080p, so you can kick back and enjoy your movies or any other videos in high definition.

The Link is built for one thing only, and that is letting you watch your pictures and videos from your PC or laptop without having to physically lug it around. Fortunately, it does a great job at that. It is priced a little steep at Dh699 but there may be quite a few who may be able to place value in its utility above the cost.
