Some love the rollercoaster rides, others go to shop and the rest sit somewhere in between, but no matter why you head to Global Village, there is one place which almost everyone pays a visit - the Food Court.

No matter why you go to Global village, you finally end up in the food court. Kelly crane discovers it's food that brings us together.
Some love the rollercoaster rides, others go to shop and the rest sit somewhere in between, but no matter why you head to Global Village, there is one place which almost everyone pays a visit — the Food Court.
It's the hotspot of Global Village, attracting people from all over the world and a place to witness smiles, laughs and contented families. The food area is often the hustle and bustle of Global Village — especially around dinner time.
Options galore
Hungry youngsters tug at parents' clothes to stop and choose a place to sit, while parents stand and deliberate over the countless number of outlets available.
And, believe me, with that many options it's no surprise the choice is such a hard one.
But it wasn't until I stood a distance away from the area and watched the interaction between vendors and their customers that something far more important than what was being served hit me.
Food unites people, cultures and religions better than almost anything I've ever experienced before.
People from all nationalities consider food from other countries and even go for experiencing something they have never tried before.
Ahmad Askar, from India said: "I am looking forward to having something to eat as we have been rushing around for a few hours now.
Time goes so quickly here and I cannot wait to eat with my family. I think we are going to have Lebanese food for a change."
With Chinese, Indian, Iranian, British, Lebanese, Arabic, Japanese, Thai and much more there is definitely something for everyone.
Mohammad Zargar, 29, was enjoying dishes from his home country of Iran. "Food is the quickest way for me to transport myself back home. And the food here is very good."
Global Village is open from 4pm to
12 midnight daily and costs Dh 5 daily.
