Dubai: Want to make that special someone feel on top of the world this Valentine's Day?

Then head straight to the 828-metre Burj Khalifa's At The Top observation deck for a romantic dinner, complete with a flower-bedecked floor and live violin music entertainment.

However, the price, even by Dubai standards, is quite a tall order - Dh10,000 (starting prices) - and the dinner can only be arranged on a firm request, a travel agent arranging these VIP packages told XPRESS.

In contrast, The Strip in Las Vegas or the famous gourmet house Au Crocodile in Strasbourg, France, can set you back by about $500 (Dh1,840) per couple per meal - including entrees, main course, dessert and beverages. "This is a highly tailor-made package that has not been done before, but it can surely be arranged," said Nabeel Abu Alrub, Director General at Utravel, a bespoke travel agency in Dubai.

Dh10,000 is just a point of reference as cost varies according to the cuisine, entertainment, the staff hired and beverages served, he said. "A firm quotation can be given if there is a serious request," said Abu Alrub.

The cuisine can be arranged according to the guest's exacting choice, though a French menu is recommended to satisfy the most demanding taste buds - which also includes the divine foie gras, said the Arab-Canadian. "The experience could be tailor-made - so if it is for Valentine's Day, it could be a surprise dinner whereby our ‘Don Juan' will take his ‘chica' to the 124th floor."

Guests will be greeted by a rose petal-bedecked floor leading them to a table by candlelight, where their very own private waiter wearing a tux and white gloves will wait on them.

Everything will be served on China and silverware.

The closest fine-dining arrangement, but a bit more modest, can be had at the At.mosphere restaurant two floors down on the 122nd floor which opened to the public last month, for a minimum spend in the hundreds of dirhams.

A call centre staff at At The Top confirmed that they take requests for "special events", stating that only serious queries would be entertained.
