Actress and TV host Ruffa Gutierrez has quickly quashed rumours linking her to her fellow TV5 artist Derek Ramsay.
Gutierrez denied stories alleging she and Ramsay had a tryst in London, where the actor was on an assignment for TV5 to cover the recently concluded London Olympics 2012.
The actress revealed she is on a “love sabbatical” and will only be able to entertain suitors in November, so those waiting in the wings will have more than two months to figure out how to capture the heart of a former beauty queen.
Martin’s moving up
Drama actor Martin del Rosario is finally moving up to leading man status with a starring role in the TV series Pintada on ABS CBN.
But the young actor’s growing celebrity status isn’t just evident on TV. He recently appeared in the film The Healing, co-starring award-winning actress Vilma Santos and teen star Kim Chui; he’s also doing another movie, currently in the production stage, entitled Amorosa, where he leads the cast along with other upcoming Kapamilya talents Enrique Gil and Ejay Falcon.
Del Rosario first made his mark in the film Dagim in 2010, where his stirring performance earned him critics’ nod and won him the Breakthrough Performance Award at the Golden Screen Awards.
Watch out for Enrique
Another rising actor who is making his presence felt in the business is Enrique Gil. His film, The Reunion, is currently showing in theatres, but his fans will not miss him when it ends its theatrical run as a new one is about to be released.
Gil stars in the horror-suspense flick Amorosa, which is currently in the final stages of production and is set for a commercial run next month.
The young actor, who also plays a major role in the TV series The Princess and I, is not worried about too much exposure, saying his projects just happened to come at the right time, and he is making hay while the sun shines.
Agot is consistently good
Premier actress Agot Isidro is earning rave reviews for her sterling performance as a bitter housewife on the top-rating series One True Love, her first project soon after she transferred to GMA7.
She’s been one of the industry’s most sought after villains, and the actress many people love to hate for consistently good performances.
The series has not ended yet, but Isidro already has another project in the pipeline, a major role in a pioneering series top-billed by no less than actor-politician Bong Revilla, Jr.
Isidro has also been cast in a yet-untitled movie that will be screened at the Metro Manila Film Festival in December.
