Selena yo-yos over Justin
Despite fresh insider reports that “the break-up absolutely, positively involved another woman” and that “Selena thought Justin was lying to her… with unexplained absences, girls texting him late into the night”, it seems that Selena Gomez, 20, has forgiven her megastar boyfriend, Justin Bieber, 18, enough to hang out with him.
Epic public fights
Selena stepped out to the Glamour Women Of The Year Awards looking amazing solo (a girl’s best revenge) on Tuesday night, and she was then spotted having lunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel on the Thursday with Justin (two weeks after she called it quits): in fact, that night, Justin’s white Ferrari was parked outside Selena’s mansion all night. They were then spied just 24 hours later having dinner at Yamato, a Japanese eatery in Encino, California: but it’s here that their supposed reconciliation went awry. “Arriving separately,” spilled a source, “Bieber came from the studio and Gomez from the Beverly shopping mall… they had just sat down and hadn’t ordered before they started to fight. Ten minutes later, they stormed out without speaking and she drove off in her car.” This lead to the One Less Lonely Girl singer “swearing and yelling” before following Selena home and yelling over her fence, “begging for her to allow him inside”. She refused, and Justin again “lost his temper with the paparazzi”.
Rejected, that night he tweeted, “Things aren’t always easy. There is a lot of pressure. I’m trying to figure it all out. I’m trying. But I care. I notice. I still hear you.” Then, just days later, they were reportedly spotted leaving the Nokia Theatre together “hand-in-hand” after the American Music Awards on Sunday night: what are they up to?
Selena "trying to let herself down gently"
Psychiatrists and relationship experts privy to Justin’s reported wandering eye say that Selena’s hot and cold behaviour may just be because she doesn’t have the confidence yet to say ‘no’ to meet-ups after Justin “incessantly texts” her.
“Selena may or may not see this,” mused Dr Susan Abbot, “but she may be trying to let herself down gently. Ripping off the Band-Aid can take off the skin – sometimes it’s better to just peel.” Meanwhile, Carole Lieberman, author of Bad Girls: Why Men Love Them and How Good Girls Can Learn Their Secrets says it would be a disaster if “this breakup scared Selena enough to rush back and think that Justin will be faithful forever,” and that “at some point Justin will wonder what he’s missing and give into other tantalising options again.” But Hollywood watchers have noted just how hard this rejection will be for Bieber. “When was the last time he was denied?” one asked. “That’s one of the problems of young celebrity… they’re never turned away. This is not reality. This is not life.”
Britney's fiance more like a "second father"
She’s just confirmed she’s “definitely” returning to the X Factor judging panel next season, but one thing less sure is just when 30-year-old Britney Spears will walk down the aisle with fiancé Jason Trawick, 40. Insider whispers suggested that the pair had planned a winter wonderland end-of-December wedding, but that the couple of two-and-a-half years have now “called off” the nuptials because they’ve been “fighting constantly”.
“They’re telling friends it’s postponed,” continued the source, “but they’ll probably never make it down the aisle. Britney doesn’t think Jason is fun, and resents him because he acts more like a second father than a romantic partner.” The fact that Jason – a family friend – was once Brit’s agent (a professional relationship they severed after they came out as a couple in 2010) – and that he’s a judge-approved conservator for her, responsible for her wellbeing is said to be behind the ‘fathering’ problem.
“Britney and Jason have been sleeping in separate rooms,” added the mole, “It’s pretty much a business arrangement at this point. Jason does love Britney and the boys, but he can’t see himself spending the rest of his life with her.” Brit’s parents are said to be “devastated”, especially mum Lynne, who saw Jason as “one of her children” and loved how great he was with Britney’s sons, Sean Preston, seven, and Jayden, six.
“I never thought Trawick was going to K-Fed it up because I really do believe he has Brit’s best interests at heart,” theorised a Hollywood watcher. “But what now? I can’t imagine a judge would keep the conservatorship intact. So complicated, when will it get easy for Britney?”
Kourtney "doesn't 'trust Scott' with her cash"
Inside reports from crew suggest that the upcoming season of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami “involves Scott popping the question” – how romantic and unplanned (not) – but sources say the couple of five years have many obstacles to get over before they walk down the televised aisle.
Worried about his well-known tendency to party too hard and his often-televised anger issues, Kourtney, 32, has reportedly demanded Scott, 29, sign a Dh74 million pre-nup to protect her fortune. “If anyone screws up this marriage, it will be Scott, not Kourtney,” spilled the friend of the family, “She’s no dummy, she’s protecting her children’s futures.” But when she brought the legality up while on holiday in Paris, “fireworks” set off and Scott flared up.
Kim’s struggles to be set free from her 72-day marriage from Kris Humphries may make up part of Kourtney’s fears, but sources say it’s mostly Scott’s bad behaviour that’s worrying her, and we can’t blame her. On November 4 he was spotted partying with ladies’ man Wilmer Valderrama at LIV nightclub in Miami, and the pair were out until 7am and managed to rack up a Dh73,000 bill; and he was also spied at NYC’s 10ak club earlier this month throwing fistfuls of cash in the air shouting “make it rain”.
