The world may want to know why Abhishek Bachchan gave his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan a cold shoulder and acted surly before paparazzi at the p Sarbjit premiere, but that may remain an eternal mystery.
In an interactive session with fans on Twitter designed to promote her latest biopic Sarbjit, Rai Bachchan chose several questions — mostly vanilla and feel-good in nature.
But the one that stood out was her husband tweeting a question to his famous wife: “How did you make such an emotionally draining film and still smile when you got home.”
Rai Bachchan smiled indulgently and answered: “Trust you asking me this question Abhishek. Well, that’s life, no? We are grateful to God that our life gives us reason aplenty to smile ... there’s little Aradhya, our little angel.” If that’s their way of answering their critics about a possible rift in their relationship, it’s a convoluted way.
Not surprisingly, Rai Bachchan chose questions that gave her room to showcase her sunshine image.
Questions about critics tearing her performance apart as Sarabjit’s sister did not make the cut. Rai Bachchan, who is yet to officially join twitter but was logged on to her movie Sarbjit’s account, was game to answer questions about how her parents and her father-in-law, the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, reacted to her role.
“Pa said I had done a very good job and my parents teared up,” said Rai Bachchan.
