Egyptian singer Tamer Hosny, along with the home-grown talent Hussain Al Jassmi, will headline special New Year’s Eve concert at the Abu Dhabi Breakwater at the corniche.
A four-day celebration will kick off on December 28, with a New Year’s Eve countdown village pop-up that will feature a retail zone, F&B area, roaming entertainers, firework displays and a countdown timer to December 31.
The celebrations will lead up to NYE with 90-minute concert led by Hosny and Al Jassmi and supported by several other local performers, bands and DJs that are still to be revealed. This will be followed by a laser, lights and confetti shower extravaganza, as well as a memorable 10-minute firework display.
The village will also feature a New Year wishing wall, available for visitors to write down their dreams and wishes for 2018 on cards. People can also send virtual wishes on Instagram using the hashtag #ADconfettiwish.
Tickets for the New Year’s Eve Countdown Village, which includes entry to the concert, will go on sale on December 10. Tickets start at Dh40 and entry is free for children under the age of six. The event is organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi.
