Leonardo DiCaprio and Ashton Kutcher are among stars who have signed up to become space tourists.

Sir Richard Branson’s children Sam and Holly will have seats for the first voyage.

Dozens of celebrities have reportedly applied for the remaining three seats, including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Tom Hanks, Justin Bieber, Russell Brand and Princess Beatrice. The first 500 would-be passengers have paid a £150,000 upfront fee and it is understood the three seats will be allocated by a lottery.

Branson said they could have a refund if they changed their minds in the wake of the spaceship crash in Southern California on October 31, but claimed nobody had taken him up on the offer.

However, according to a source, there was “no way” Princess Beatrice would take up her offer of a seat.
