Yash Raj Films Befikre will have its world premiere at the 13th edition of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) on Thursday, December 8. Directed by Aditya Chopra and starring Bollywood heart-throb Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor, the romantic comedy will be screened at Madinat Jumeirah along with a the red-carpet gala.
Befikre, meaning carefree in English, is a free-spirited, contemporary love story of Dharam (Singh) and Shyra (Kapoor), who find love in an impulsive, engaging series of experiences.
“This refreshing new film will appeal not just to the expatriate community but also to Arabs who have a strong affinity for Bollywood films,” said Abdulhamid Juma, DIFF Chairman, said in press statement.
“We’re delighted that Befikre has been selected by the Festival as it is a film very close to our hearts and as always, we continue to tell stories that reflect the times we live in. We thank DIFF for their support and wish everyone a great festival,” said Nelson D’souza, head of operations-MENA, Yash Raj Films.
This is the fourth film from Yash Raj Films to showcase at DIFF after Kabul Express, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl.
Diff takes place from December 7 to 14 at Madinat Jumeirah. Film ticket packages — and registration for professionals — are now available: 10 tickets for Dh275, 25 for Dh550, and a red-carpet package with seven gala tickets for Dh500 at diff.ae.
