Spies in Germany had their work cut out speeding down the famously de-restricted Autobahn and chasing a prototype Porsche undergoing testing.

This time it’s the turn of the next-generation Porsche Cayman, spotted here driving in tandem with its sibling, the new 981 generation Boxster.

As before, the new Cayman will share plenty components with the new Boxster, so we can expect only slight increases in power for the base model (Boxster is rated at 265bhp) and the Cayman S (Boxster S is rated at 315bhp).

The design features less wheel overhang and a more sloping shape to closely mimic the 911, and the interior will feature a Panamera-influenced layout.

Prices for the current Cayman start at Dh190,400 and Dh216,900 for the S, and Porsche will most likely stick to very similar pricing when the 2014 model surfaces.
