Abu Dhabi The UAE’s first rollercoaster restaurant in the new Yas Mall is turning Abu Dhabi’s culinary scene upside down.

The 14,000 square foot ROGO’S restaurant has a network of 30 rollercoasters that loop, spin and spiral their way through the diners to deliver your food directly to each table.

And how do they do it? Each table has its own individually designed roller coaster track and a unique silent delivery system. Each rollercoaster track has a unique number corresponding to the table where it delivers food. Guests can place their order on a tablet placed under the table. Once the food is ready, a conveyer belt from the kitchen carries it to the rail in individual containers, and the staff manually places it on the track that has a unique number that corresponds to the table number where the order was placed.

It is a thrilling experience to watch your food roll and gyrate its way to your table in a gravity-defying 360-degree journey along the multi-spiral, double loop and tornado tracks.

Each item is delivered in individual steel containers that have a plastic holding that fits on to the rails.

The containers have tight lids to prevent spilling. Even your juice and soft drink can slide through the tracks and safely land on the table.

Marlon Comia, deputy assistant manager at ROGO’S said they keep the rollercoaster track squeaky clean every day because even a speck of dust can halt the food midway on the track.

British executive chef Paul Owens heads the 34-person culinary team and has developed the menu to reflect dishes and flavours from across the globe. The extensive menu covers all the culinary bases with dishes from the Americas to Europe and Asia.

“The UAE is globally acknowledged as a groundbreaking destination for world firsts and with the world’s fastest roller coaster, the Formula Rossa, part of the neighbouring Ferrari World experience, ROGO’S offers a spectacular culinary experience for fun-loving diners looking for a new and exciting dining adventure,” said Jessica Wadih Al-Absi, Chairman and CEO of Group JWA that runs ROGO’s.
