Dubai: Registration has opened for a tough 30km race which sees entrants climb ropes, scramble through mud, and carry heavy weights through desert sands.
Set to take place on November 10, in Hatta, a rocky eastern part of Dubai, the event is called the XDubai Spartan Race. It has been organised in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council.
The organising committee has allocated more than Dh180,000 in prize money for winners competing in the race’s three categories: Spartan Sprint, Spartan Beast, and Spartan Juniors.
Spartan Beast (Men) is set to kick off on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 7:30am at the Hatta Mountain Bike Trail Centre.
Spartan Beast (Women) will start at 7:45am, while the open category is set to kick off at 8:00am.
Spartan Sprint is scheduled to start at 9:30am and the Spartan Juniors at 10:00am.
Participants will have to make their way through 70 obstacles spread over the course.
Hatta was chosen to host the race due to its diverse terrain.
