Anita Dongre is to mentor six young designers for Lakme Fashion Week’s Gen Next programme, with the designers presenting their creations at the upcoming Winter/Festive 2014 shows.

The programme is Lakme Fashion Week’s endeavour to promote and nurture young fashion talent.

“Through Gen Next, LFW has made a significant contribution towards shaping the future of the Indian fashion industry. I am looking forward to mentoring for the second time this year the young designers,” Dongre said.

Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive will be held from August 20- 24. The six designers were selected by the LFW Advisory board for the programme.

Among the designers, Delhi-based Anuj Bhutani will present his collection on winter dressing, while Dhruv Kapoor will highlight the raw and bold traits of women through his collection.

Other designers include Mumbai-based Arunima Majhi and Kristy De Cunha, who will show her La Casa Azul (the blue house) collection, which is a tribute to Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.
