Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Friday received Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, who arrived in the UAE on a short visit.

They discussed bilateral ties and ways to strengthen them in order to serve the interests of the people in UAE and Kuwait.

Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed earlier received Shaikh Sabah at the Abu Dhabi Presidential airport.

Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed expressed satisfaction at the level of relations between the two countries in terms of growth and development.

The future of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries was also touched upon and both parties affirmed their keenness on backing the council and all that is needed to enhance its unity and serves its blessed procession.

The meeting was also attended by Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser and Vice-President of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, other shaikhs and senior officials.

On the Kuwaiti side, the meeting was attended by Shaikh Sabah Khalid Al Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Abdul Latif Al Zayani, GCC Secretary-General, and senior officials.

Shaikh Sabah left the UAE later in the day.
