Abu Dhabi: The Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has delivered emergency relief assistance to 3,000 families, including refugee families, in the towns of Jiyeh, Barja, Siblin, Bassir and Ketermaya to help them survive a harsh winter as the Levant region and Iraq were recently hit by a fierce snowstorm.

An official source from the Foundation said the humanitarian aid team has managed to transport food, blankets, pillows, mattresses, warm clothing, heating stoves and diesel and winter shoes to the refugees in the five towns where heavy snow blocked the roads in the past two days.

The campaign is being carried out in cooperation with the UAE Embassy in Beirut.
