Socotra: In its endeavour to provide improved health and hygiene to the residents of Socotra, the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation (KBZF) has successfully completed two ambitious projects on the islands that aim to provide a better standard of living and promote a healthier lifestyle for its residents.

The Shaikh Khalifa Hospital project was initiated on the island to offer superior standards of health care for its populace by taking over the existing infrastructure of a hospice that was operating previously and renovating it to upgrade its operating theatres, intensive care units and channelling much-needed medical equipment and supplies for its facility. A lab and a pharmacy were also set up to provide top medical services for the islands’ community.

In addition, seven water tanks were installed in different locations to provide safe drinking water for the local population.
