Dubai: UAE-based Kareem Allaf of Syria will meet American Ammar Al Hogbani in the boys’ singles final of the 13th Dubai ITF Junior Championships at the Al Wasl tennis courts on Saturday.

In Friday’s semi-finals, Allaf got the better of Akram Al Sallaly of Egypt 6-4, 6-2 after Al Hogbani had made his way past Turkey’s Kaya Gore 6-3, 7-5.

The win against Al Sallaly was sweet revenge for 16-year-old Allaf following his loss in three sets against the same opponent in the opening round of the Smash International Championships in Egypt in September.

This will be the third time that Allaf and Al Hogbani are featuring in a singles final in as many weeks. On October 18, Al Hogbani defeated Allaf in three sets for the Zain Bahrain ITF title before, one week later, the American, who turns 16 next month, won the Kuwait ITF Juniors.

The girls’ singles final was also decided, with Eliza Omirou of Cyprus setting up a meeting against Greek teenager Eleni Christofi.

Omirou secured an easy 6-1, 6-1 win over Tatiana Makarova of Russia in the first semi-final, before Christofi overcame Anna Savchenko of Cyprus 6-2, 6-0 in the second.

The two singles finals will be played from 10am on Saturday. Entry is free.
