Indian comedian and actor Kapil Sharma weighed in on actress Tannishtha Chatterjee slamming jokes that were made on her dark skin colour.

Sharma said he didn’t find such brand of humour funny.

Two weeks ago, the actress took to Facebook to condemn the comedians on the roast-style TV show Comedy Nights Bachao for making jokes that were racist and regressive in nature.

“There is a thin line between humour and being offensive. Personally, I don’t find it humorous,” said Sharma in an interview with tabloid!. “If you hurt one person in the name of making millions laugh, you have failed in your purpose. I will never crack such jokes and I am glad that God has given me that much brains at least”.

The self-made comedian, who will perform in Dubai on October 27 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, added that he has never cracked jokes on physical appearance and was not intending to begin now.

The host of The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony TV will be bringing his entire team including Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, Ali Asgar, Sugandha Mishra and Chandan Prabhakar for the Dubai show.

Sharma was also on a roll as he discussed the cultural boycott of Pakistani artists in India following the rising tension between the two nations.

“The question is not whether I support it or not. Whatever I say will make headlines. You should think about what is the root cause of it all and that’s terrorism. We should remove terrorism which is bad for society. I am often invited to shows to debate on current issues, but I always turn down such requests. We as a country should fight against terror,” said Sharma in Hindi.
