Justin Bieber’s monkey bill running into thousands
The bill is running into the thousands as German authorities feed and care for singer's pet
Justin Bieber has a serious monkey on his back – or rather, a serious bill for the care of one.
The ongoing saga of the singer’s pet capuchin monkey Mally took another turn as German customs officials announced that the bill for housing, feeding and caring for Bieber’s pet could run into the thousands of dollars.
Bieber had to leave the animal – a gift from producer Jamal “Mally Mall” Rashid – in quarantine in Germany during a recent tour, after arriving without the proper paperwork to bring Mally into the country. The monkey has not been reclaimed, although reports from the customs office said Bieber’s management has asked that the animal be re-located to a zoo.
Time is running out for Bieber to reclaim Mally, however, with the holding period expiring at midnight today.
It’s just the latest in a bizarre string of incidents for Bieber, who came under fire for a narcissistic comment left in the guestbook at the Anne Frank House, was attacked by a fan in Dubai, lost hundreds of thousands of dollars to thieves at a South African stadium, and was deemed one of the most hated musicians in America in a Public Policy Polling survey.
