Pop star John Mayer won’t be performing at a tribute concert honouring the late rock icon Prince on Thursday.
Concert promoter Randy Levy told the Minneapolis Star Tribune late on Tuesday that Mayer had a “change of schedule” and had to withdraw from the concert at the Xcel Energy Centre in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Performers still in the line-up include Stevie Wonder, Christina Aguilera, Chaka Khan, Tori Kelly and Prince’s ex-wife Mayte Garcia, among others.
Prince died in April of an accidental painkiller overdose at his Paisley Park recording complex in the Minneapolis suburb of Chanhassen.
