In a first of its kind promotional strategy, actors Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor are set to unveil the trailer of their upcoming romantic-comedy Befikre at Paris’ Eiffel Tower this evening, and the duo says the feeling is out of this world.
Besides the unique trailer launch, Befikre is also special to Singh as it is directed by his mentor, Aditya Chopra. The 31-year-old actor says it’s a dream-come-true moment.
“Wow, this actually feels quite surreal. I am having the launch of my film’s trailer at the Eiffel Tower, and this is an Aditya Chopra film!
“I can hardly believe what’s going on. Again it’s like some other instances in my life when I can hardly believe what’s happening to me. That’s why my Twitter bio says that I am living the dream,” he said.
The Bajirao Mastani star was launched by Chopra’s production house, Yash Raj Films, in 2010, in Baand Baaja Baaraat. The actor went to star in a couple of YRF movies: Ladies v Ricky Bahl and Kill Dil.
Kapoor, who also debuted with a film under the Yash Raj banner, is working under Chopra’s direction in her second film.
Talking about the trailer launch, the 28-year-old actress said, “I am nervous, I am jittery, I am excited and I can’t wait for the evening to begin. I don’t think else can beat this feeling that I have right now. And it truly is the most historic thing in my life.”
Befikre is Chopra’s first directorial venture after his 2008 love story Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. This is also the first time he has directed any other actor in the lead than superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
The movie has been extensively shot in Paris.
The Mayor of Paris will be present at the trailer launch, which will happen at the banquet located on the first floor of the iconic monument.
The lead pair, who landed in the city yesterday, has been busy with the preparations for the evening. Befikre will hit Indian theatres on December 9.
