Howard Morrison finds parallels in country’s rise and evolution of judicial process
Abu Dhabi: Howard Morrison, one of the judges of the International Criminal Court, has endorsed the UAE’s legal system as an example of a judicial system in tune with international laws that ensure equal justice and the rule of law.
Morrison made the statement during his participation in a conference concerning criminal and international humanitarian law in the Arab Gulf region titled ‘Necessity or Choice’. The conclave was organised by the Emirates Association for Lawyers and Legal Experts under the patronage of Dr Hadef Jua’an Al Daheri, minister of justice.
Morrison said that the economic and social development being witnessed by the UAE reflects the evolution of its judicial system. He observed that the UAE is a country that enjoys peace and security and is a meeting point in the Middle East and has become a model for peaceful coexistence of different nationalities and cultures.
