Hyderabad: Swine flu in Telangana is gradually coming under control and there is no shortage of medicine, Dr Narendranath, director, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, said on Monday.

About 28,000 doses of swine flu medicine were available at all the hospitals in the state, said. “Health Minister Lakshma Reddy and the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao were reviewing the situation”, he said.

Meanwhile, the new health minister visited Gandhi Hospital and spoke to the doctors and the patients. He also went around the hospital including the swine flu ward and directed the staff to ensure hygienic conditions and cleanliness in and around the hospital.

Following the direction of the state government to all the area hospitals to refer any suspected cases of swine flue to the hospitals in the state capital Hyderabad, the officials were not taking any chances with the people approaching with the symptoms of the virus.

B. Narasimhlu from Kondapur village in Medak district was referred to Gandhi Hospital on Monday with swine flu symptoms.

Meanwhile, another patient from Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad with symptoms of swine flu died on Monday. Dr Narendranath said that 82 suspected cases were tested on Sunday and 35 of them were found positive.
