Workshops will develop children's artistic talents
The Arts Surprises Week, which began on Thursday, will witness several competitions and workshops for children.
Dubai: The Arts Surprises Week, which began on Thursday, will witness several competitions and workshops for children.
While the workshops are aimed at developing a love of the arts among children, various competitions ensure children have lots of fun and also win some fabulous prizes.
The Arts Surprises Week is being conducted by the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD).
"The educational workshops are meant to instill a love of art in young children who learn the nuances of creative arts through these sessions being held at various Dubai shopping malls," the organisers said. These workshops are being held from 5 to 10pm daily until July 5 at different venues.
Beginning with Mercato shopping mall on June 29 the workshop went to Al Ghurair City on June 30, on July 1 it takes place at Ibn Battuta Mall, on July 2 children can have a brush with creativity at Deira City Centre, on July 3 in BurJuman Centre, on July 4 in Al Bustan Centre and on July 5 in Lamcy Plaza.
Children will learn the basics of sand art, painting on pottery, picture frame painting, face painting and other crafts through these workshops.
While children try their hand at the various crafts they also have lots of fun all the way.
Dubai's shopping malls turn into music studios during the week to showcase children's talents in singing, music, and dancing. Several painting competitions are also being organised and the winners will be awarded attractive prizes.
Children get a chance to take part in music, singing, dancing as well as quiz competitions in the Children's Competitions and Artistic Skills event being held at different venues throughout the Arts Surprises Week in the evenings between 5pm to 7pm.
These competitions were hosted at Al Bustan Centre on June 29, Al Reef Mall on June 30, and continue at Deira City Centre today, Bin Sougat Centre tomorrow, Hamarain Centre on July 3, Mercato Mall on July 4 and BurJuman on July 5.
