Modhesh bids farewell to friends

Dubai: On the last day of DSS, the endearing Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) mascot says adieu to friends at Modhesh Fun City with a promise of returning next year with greater fun and more rewards.

The ubiquitous sunny-faced mascot of the DSS is all set to bid goodbye as schools reopen and this year's edition of DSS comes to a close.

Modhesh, the harbinger of DSS, says so long until next year when he returns with lots more goodies, exciting events and entertainment opportunities in tow.

Until he is back residents will miss his sunny disposition and cheerful presence, his beaming smile and bright bearings.

For the past 10 weeks Modhesh has brought cheer and smiles to millions by his sheer presence. He was all over the city perched up on walls, standing by the roadsides, welcoming visitors to shopping malls, signalling the way on major crossings, and we all loved him for that.

But as all good things come to an end Modhesh's visit this time is also ending today. He had a longer stay than usual this year as he arrived before the DSS began on June 21. The DSS brought loads of treats for both children and adults that made the summer vacation more fulfilling and memorable.

The DSS has been 10 weeks of hectic activity with shows, events and competitions going on at the various venues. The shopping malls donned a festive look with banners and colourful theme decorations throughout the summer fiesta.

Entertaining shows from all over the world charmed the audiences across age-groups, nationalities and backgrounds during DSS. Kids took part in various competitions and contests and won while their parents picked the best deals of the season at the retail stores.

The DSS was a big party and for all its goodies and joyful treats for many it may seem to be ending too soon. And all this while Modhesh was an integral part of the fun and frolic, he graced the celebration and made it all the more special.

This evening Modhesh will make his last public appearance of the season. He will be present for the grand finale of the various DSS raffles at Modhesh Fun City to take place from 7pm onwards.

He will stay on for a couple of hours after the raffle winners are announced and greet the guests, especially the kids.

All Modhesh fans are welcome to meet and greet their favourite character at Modhesh Fun City one last time this year. Modhesh will be back next year with greater fun and entertainment to mark a very special tenth edition of DSS.
