Dubai: Although the Dubai Shopping Festival has finished, Global Village, the much celebrated tourism destination in Dubailand, continues until February 21 .

With its vibrant and colourful slogan "Global village, Good Times", the annual cultural and entertainment destination runs for the last week of its 14th edition.

During the past weeks guests have witnessed numerous new attractions at the venue. Families, friends and visitors were enticed by the beautifully designed array of 31 pavilions and more than 100 kiosks in the park.

Shopping enthusiasts loved the fabulous finds at the different Middle Eastern pavilions, African pavilions and Indian pavilion. Cultural performances in each pavilion also impressed the tourists and residents who visited the Global Village.

In its final week thousands are expected to take advantage of the special activities offered at Global Village. These include the Guinness World Records Pavilion allowing guests exciting opportunities to participate and set new records in a variety of categories.

Shows at the World Culture Stage, the Skywheel Stunt Show, radio broadcasts and competition prizes, to name a few, are attractions to look out for.

Nature lovers will get to experience the reptile world in the Reptile Village while children who are fond of the Shabiayat Al Kartoon will get the chance to have their photographs taken with the mascots.

Exciting fun fair rides also await adventurous children and adults at the 40-plus Freij Entertainment games and rides.

Global Village is also perfect for families and friends who just want to spend time together. There are many restaurants with different cuisines. The remarkable scenic gondola trip through the Global Village Lake is a must for those who haven't tried it yet. The fireworks specials will make the whole affair in Global Village a delightful one.

In addition, Global Village also boasts top quality facilities and services including provision of 2 mosques, 25 restaurants, 120 kiosks, 29 rest rooms, 10 ATM machines, shuttle transport services, and a huge parking area that can accommodate thousands of vehicles.

Various Dubai Municipality departments are present to maintain safety and security on the park premises.
